Anticipating a STEM career, and attracted by their dual Engineering / Liberal Arts degree program. I attended Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa;
I quickly learned my upbringing in Chicago had not prepared me for Small Town Iowa.
I was intrigued that Iowans and Chicagoans could be so much the same, yet, so different. I couldn't believe that people lived that way, or thought that way. - about both ends of the urban/rural dipole.
I became interested in how a society's ideas, values, and mores are organized and propagated both socially and geospatially.
