Infrastructure Management System (IMS)
City of Vancouver, B.C.

In preparation for hosting the Winter Olympics, the City of Vancouver undertook a number of infrastructure projects, including the construction, replacement, and repair of subways, roads, and stadiums. In addition, the city chose to upgrade many of its supporting workflow and data processing systems.

A project to track, manage, and maintain the city's assets was awarded to Autodesk; chosen as the system integrator for this project due to its expertise in geolocation and management using AutoCAD Map-Guide products.

Autodesk Databases would be the system of record for all geolocational information and would serve as the data warehouse for various GIS systems internally and externally. The Hansen System would be the transactional front end to an Oracle Financial Database. and the system of record for both proactively generated preventative maintenance schedules and ad-hoc field non-georeference attributes.
